Awards Night to honour Sports achievers

A number of achievers in several sporting areas will be honoured at the first ever Indian Newslink Indian Sports Awards 2012 prize distribution ceremony to be held in Auckland next month.

Sportspersons, officials and players associated with sports organisations, commercial entities and a host of others will be present at the event scheduled to be held at the ASB Stadium located at the corner of Kohimarama and Kepa Roads in Kohimarama, Auckland on May 12, 2012.

The Programme

The event will commence at 630 pm and will include speeches, entertainment, dinner and awards presentation.

V4U Entertainments Limited, Azhar Adam and Group and the Henderson School Dance Group will perform music and dance numbers.

Mt Roskill based Chefs NZ Caterers, under the supervision and management of Vishwa Gounder are preparing a special Halal menu to cater to a cross-section of diners at the ceremony.

Tickets for the programme, priced at $60 per person, inclusive of GST, dinner, entertainment and awards ceremony, are now on sale. Tables seating ten persons each are also available.

There will be a licenced cash bar for soft drinks, liquor and kava at the venue.

Conditions of Entry

The Indian Newslink Indian Sports Awards 2012 are open to sportspersons of Indian origin (those qualifying for ‘People of Indian Origin Card’ or ‘Overseas Citizenship of India’ status recognised by the Indian Government). Entrants must be either citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand.

Entries to various categories are only by nomination through recognised and registered sports clubs, associations and organisations in New Zealand.

Entrants must enter only the category relevant to them and must be endorsed by a sports club, association or organisation in the prescribed official entry form. Entries from individual players and in format not prescribed will not be accepted.

Completed forms must be sent by email only to smiityswv72@yahoo.co.nz on or before 6 pm on April 8, 2012. Entries received after this date and time will not be accepted.

Entries sent by any other means to any other address will not be considered.

There are 12 individual categories, entries to which should be separately entered. Winners in each of the categories will be evaluated for the ‘Indian Newslink Indian Sportsman of the Year Award 2012’ and the ‘Indian Newslink Indian Sportswoman of the Year Award 2012.’

The decision of the judges will be final and no correspondence will be entertained in this connection.
