Police are looking for a 30-year-old woman in connection with the murder of Constable Matthew Dennis Hunt in the West Auckland suburb of Massey yesterday (Friday, June 19, 2020).
He was killed by a gunshot, allegedly fired by a man, when he was approached in his car at 1030 am. Another Police Officer, who was also a victim, is in Auckland Hospital in critical but stable condition. A few members of the public were also injured but have been treated.
About Natalie Bracken
The woman, named Natalie Bracken, has a warrant of arrest on driving charges and as an accessory to the murder of Constable Hunt.
She is known to frequent the greater Auckland Area and Northland.
Detective Superintendent Dave Lynch said that Police have no information to suggest that Ms Bracken is in possession of a firearm but she has history of possessing a knife.
“She is known to associate with people that have affiliations to a number of gangs. If you see her, then please do not approach her but call 111 immediately. We are asking Ms Bracken to contact Police herself,” Detective Lunch said.

Detective Lynch also warned that any persons who may be assisting Ms Bracken to evade Police could face criminal charges themselves.
Following the shooting incident, general arming of the Police remains in place throughout the Auckland region, although sources said that this is being reviewed.
