World Hindu Economic Forum to meet in Mumbai on Friday

Top Hindu businesspersons, investors and political leaders will gather in Mumbai on Friday, September 27, 2019 for a three-day Conference to discuss the challenges facing Hindu businesses and outline an economic agenda to strengthen the Indian economy.

Organised by the World Hindu Economic Forum, the Conference, seventh in an annual series will be held under the broad theme of ‘Prosperous Society: Stronger Society.’ At the Grand Hayat in the commercial capital of India.

Hindu Wisdom and Philosophy

Forum Speakers Coordinator Professor Guna Magesan said that the Forum would account for 12 sessions during which renowned speakers will articulate on wide-ranging subjects.

“These would include ‘Wisdom and Philosophy behind the Hindu Economy,’ ‘Growth and Opportunities in Maharashtra,’ ‘Uttar Pradesh: Powering Economy of Naya Bharat,’ ‘Accelerating the transformation of Bharat’s Economy (from Steel to Artificial Intelligence)’ and ‘Boosting the Economy of Bharat: From a Businessperson’s Perspective.’

“Among the speakers at the Inaugural Session would be Devendra Fadnavis and Yogi Adityanath, respectively Chief Ministers of Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, World Hindu Foundation President Swami Vigyananand, Tata Infrastructure & Defence & Airspace President Banmali Agarwala and Piramal Group President Ajay Piramal,” he said.

Road Transport & Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, PWD, Health and Finance Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma and several other chairmen, managing directors and presidents of national and international companies are due to speak at various sessions.

Professor Magesan said that there would Parallel Sessions on Start-Ups, Agriculture, Dairy, Food Processing, Retail and E-Commerce, and Hospitality and Tourism industry.

“Swami Vigyananand will speak about the wisdom and philosophy of Hindu economy and will explain how Hindu community dominated the world economy from first century to 15th century. Hindu economy started declining during the colonial rule and substantially lost economic prowess which we need to regain,” he said.

Facilitator and Catalyst

Professor Magesan described the World Hindu Economic Forum as a ‘facilitator and catalyst’ to enable Hindus to cooperate and collaborate globally so that market access is facilitated amongst them.

“Market access across geographic zones and countries, cutting across the entire globe is being created through the Forum, which is also coordinating efforts to enhance credit availability to business, trade and industry and support budding entrepreneurs,” he said.

The main objective of these meetings is to address issues confronting the Hindu business community worldwide and promote the business interests of the communities in general.

The chief guiding principle of the Forum is to emphasise the importance of adhering to the law of the land and the guidance of the Hindu philosophy of honesty, integrity and accountability. Every country has its rules of governance, which must be followed in letter and spirit. For instance, the ways of doing business in China would be marked different from that of India.

The meetings of the Forum provide opportunities for delegates to network, exchange contacts and information and explore possibilities of business expansion.
