Youngsters would have an opportunity to understand the significance and practice of mediation at a special course being organised for them in Auckland.
Vipassana Centre is conduct an Introductory Meditation Course for the youth in the 12 to 18 years age group on December 10 in Onehunga from 9 am to 430 pm.
Organiser Falgun Shah said attendance will be informed of the venue when they register at the Centre.
“The youth will learn the ‘Anapana’ technique of observing natural and normal respiration. The technique is simple and scientific, based on morals and not religion and is non-commercial,” he said.
Mr Shan said that among the benefits accruing by regular practice of the technique include improved concentration and memory, self-confidence, greater capacity to study and ability to deal with emotions such as anger, fear and anxiety.
