As I drove home from the Wedding Reception of Neha (nee Bhatia) and Jasdeep Sandhu held at the Stamford Plaza Hotel in Auckland on March 11, 2011, I had a feeling of elation and achievement.
I had photographed a few beautiful moments of the couple and their families.
As a professional wedding photographer, I get to capture such tender moments, normally missed by guests and perhaps even close family members.
Such moments would range from the slightly numb eyes of the mother, pride of the father and amusement on the faces of children, smiles, tears to stolen glances.
Neha later said, “Jasdeep and I are so happy with our decision of choosing you as our wedding photographer. The spark of our romance and the depth of our love are beautifully highlighted in every photo taken by you.”
Every bride and bridegroom like their wedding albums to be full of beautiful photos that capture pride, smiles, tears, excitement, sweet little kisses and those great moments which will remain in their memories for life.
I understand this sentiment.
I also understand that a lot of heart, time and money are invested in organising a wedding and hence, I too, invest a lot of heart, time and money in every wedding in which I am involved as a photographer.
Locations for shooting are identified, all selected images are individually edited and most importantly, couples’ ideas and tastes are keenly taken on board throughout the process.
Neha and Jasdeep had their Wedding ceremony and Wedding Reception on different days. This is often the delicious logistical challenge that comes with an Indian Wedding.
Sangeet, Haldi and Mehendi evenings are held as part of some Indian Weddings.
A good Wedding Photographer should be able to condition his or her mind to work long hours at the venue of these festivities and later at the studio editing and enhancing the pictures.
I am also privileged to be associated with Indian Newslink, which accords me opportunities to cover prestigious and high prolife functions such as the Indian Newslink Sir Anand Satyanand Lecture (held on July 4, 2011) and the Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards.
