Time again to welcome Brahmrishi Guruvanand to New Zealand
Venkat Raman
A Spiritual Master who has bonded millions of people the world over with his words of solace, cleansed their minds and hearts of puerile thoughts and raised their souls to seek lasting peace will be in New Zealand in November.
Brahmarishi Guruvanand, revered as the ‘Shri Gurudev,’ will speak on a number of subjects during his week-long stay in this country that will take him to Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington.
Each of these meetings- In Auckland on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 5 pm at Mahatma Gandhi Centre; in Hamilton on Sunday November 19, 2017 from 4 pm at Phoenix House Community Hall; in Wellington on Friday, November 24, 2017 from 630 pm at Johnsonville Community Centre – will be attended by thousands of people, transported for a while at least to a new world of self-realisation and endearment.
Exuding Positive Energy
Laxmi Jhunjhnuwala, who belongs to the well-known family of entrepreneurs in New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore and India, has just returned from the ‘Brahmarishi Ashram’ located at Tirupathi in South India.
“The Brahmrishi Ashram is a Divine place where you can experience abundance of Positive Energy. Your heart will be filled with happiness and excitement. People say that they feel relieved of their problems as they walk through the precincts of the Ashram. This must be experienced, not heard or read,” she said.
Navarathri at the Ashram
Ms Jhunjhnuwala spent the first three days of Navarathri (September 21 to September 23, 2017), which she said was reverberation of reverence, enhanced by the enchanting presence of the Brahmarishi. Each moment of those 72 hours was a reminder of her good fortune of being at one of the most pious environments on earth.
“The Ashram Complex is a great sight to behold. It houses the Dwelling of Guruvanand, Temples for the worship of Lord Ganesha, Lakshminarayanan and others, a Hall for Meditation, and Office Building for Administration, a large dining hall and several buildings for accommodation of staff, volunteers and visitors. The entire complex is sparkling clean and hence there is no need for footwear. Besides, the bare feet absorb the energy of the place and electrifies the body,” she said.
The nightly discourse of Guruvanand, Garba and Mahaprasad are the highlights of the Navarathri Festival at the Ashram.
Teachings of the Master
Ms Jhunjhnuwala recalled the teachings of the Brahmarishi from his discourses at Brahmarishi Ashram (September 23, 2017), Sudima Christchurch Hotel (April 28, 2016), at her home in Kohimarama, Auckland (April 30, 2016), at Mahatma Gandhi Centre (May 1, 2016) and other places.
“You have to shake to take out dirt from a cloth. Similarly, dance and rejoice in front of Mata Rani and take out all your karmas and be happy. Leave all your tensions there and go home fresh with happiness.”
“Live a beautiful life, so beautiful that its fragrance eternally permeates and pervades the memory of your fellow sojourners in the journey of life.”
“In the tapestry of life, weave a story that is so inspiring and so meaningful that posterity can say with pride that you were indeed the heir of the ‘Santana Dharma,’ the eternal Dharma of the great Masters of the past. Your thoughts and actions today are indelible links that connect the great shining past and the glorious future unfolding of the Divine Life, of which you are an integral part.”
Ms Jhunjhnuwala said that an amazing fact about the Spiritual Master is his remarkable memory and ability to recognise anyone who he has met before.
“Amidst more than 100,000 people who had gathered at the Ashram, he spotted me, called me by name and before I could respond, he said, “Do not worry. Your wish will come true soon.”
Statue of Disciples
It is common for devotees to raise statues of their Gurus but in the case of Brahmarishi Guruvanand the relationship is marked by a difference. It is the Guru who installs and unveils the statues of his prominent Bhaktas (Devotees).
“The Ashram already has statues devoted to two disciples and during the Navarathri season, he had installed the third, dedicated to his Bhakta Prem Bhai.
“There are many truly amazing things that happened at the Ashram during my three-day stay last fortnight. In the next issue (October 15, 2017) of Indian Newslink, I will share with you my experiences at the Ashram, including the revival of a dead woman, the downpour of sandalwood powder and other miracles,” Ms Jhunjhnuwala said.
