Governor General Sir Anand Satyanand, Lady Susan Satyanand, Prime Minister John Key, Opposition Leader Phil Goff, Auckland Mayor Len Brown and Indian High Commissioner Retired Admiral Sureesh Mehta were among the Guests of Honour at a Gala Black Tie Dinner and Awards Presentation Ceremony held at the Stamford Plaza Hotel on November 15, 2010.
Members of Parliament including former Ministers and businesspersons were among 500 guests present at the function.
Companies owned, operated, managed and franchised in New Zealand by people of Indian origin were eligible to enter 11 Awards Categories announced in our March 1, 2010 issue. Entries to the Best Exporter to India Business category was open to all companies registered in New Zealand but exporting a product or service to India.

The 11 categories included Best Retailer Business, Best Restaurant Business, Best Business Innovation, Best Marketing Excellence, Best Professional Services Business, Best Small Business, Best Medium Business, Best Large Business, Best Young Entrepreneur of the Year and Best Businesswoman of the Year, the last two of which were new categories introduced this year.
The winner of the Supreme Business of the Year was chosen out of the winners of the 11 individual categories.
