The man, stated to be of Indian origin is about 25 years old with short to medium length dark curly hair takes the ’09 Flyer Bus Service’ to ‘get fresh’ with women passengers on this route.
Waitemata Police Communications Manager & Media Advisor Kevin Laughlin said there were a number of complaints of indecent assaults on female passengers by the alleged man in recent weeks.
“The male offender is accused of placing his hand on the legs of female passengers. Some witnesses have said that the man would position himself so as to be able to touch the back of women through their seat,” he said.
According to Mr Laughlin, there two ‘09 Flyer Bus Services’ on every weekday morning, with the first service leaving Palomino Drive at 645 am and reaching Britomart in Auckland City at 745 am via Edmonton and Te Atatu Roads.
The second service leaves at 715 am, reaching the same destination at 815 am.
“The offender is known to have regularly used the 715 am service and chosen young women in the 2o to 30 years age group of various ethnic groups, especially Indian, Indo-Fijian, European and South African origin.
“We believe that a large number of women have been affected by the inappropriate behavior of the offender. We urge anyone who has experienced such behaviour to call us immediately,” Mr Laughlin said.
