Visiting Master preaches love as universal religion

Blessings and Beads from ‘Brahmarishi’ Guruvanand

Venkat Raman –

Religion is not based on rituals and rites but on love, peace, harmony and understanding among people, says a prominent Indian Spiritual Leader who is due in New Zealand later this month.

“Reach out to as many people as possible to spread the message of awareness, self-realisation, humanity and peace,” is the quintessential belief of Vishvasant Brahmrishi Guruvanand, respectfully referred as ‘Guruvanand Swami Ji.’

The IIT (Indian Institute of Technology`) topper, Master of the Four Vedas, a linguist and a symbol of resplendence, will commence his New Zealand journey fulfilling a number of engagements, bringing together people of all faiths, propagating the philosophy of ‘Religion should unite and not divide humankind.’

His teachings are well founded on tenets of innate goodness of every person, transcending barriers of race, religion, language and other man-made barriers. He believes that everyone has something to contribute to the progress and prosperity of the human race as a whole.

Auckland Appointment

Guruvanand will address a public meeting in Auckland on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at 4 pm at Mahatma Gandhi Centre, 145 New North Road, Eden Terrace. Further details can be obtained from Laxmi Jhunjhnuwala on 021-778322 (Email: laxmijj@gmail.com), Shivani Arora on 021-870012 or Praveen Patel on 021-1646468; Email: guruvandananz@gmail.com

There is something magnetic about Guruvanand that attracts people towards him wherever he goes. Three years ago (the fall of 2013) when Braj Mohan Sinha (Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada) was asked by Sampat Poddar, International President, Vishwa Dharma Chetna Manch to write a book on the Swami Ji for release during the ‘Guru Purnima’ celebrations in New Jersey on July 11 & 12, 2014, he was apprehensive. However, he felt ‘ordained’ to undertake the task and completed it to everyone’s admiration and satisfaction.

The Divine Guru

The Book, ‘The Divine Guru,’ is an exquisite publication, and a treasure-house of knowledge, information and divinity.

In his Message, Guruvanand said, “Dr Braj Simha has attempted to provide a snapshot of my understanding and comprehension of my life. Books are basically thoughts summarised in print. Through ‘The Divine Guru’ my divine brothers and sisters want to connect your mind and heart with me.”

The Book is replete with words of wisdom, relevant to all peoples of all ages, of all countries, of all religions and of all beliefs. Those words are soaked in love and adoration for everything that lives and interacts with each other. Thanks to Ms Jhunjhnuwala, we have had the privilege of reading and quoting from it.

Words of Wisdom

Here are some excerpts:

“When you open your heart and mind to the Divine Message, always remember that you are the heir of the Divine Consciousness and Divine Life. It is your responsibility to imbibe the serenity of the spirit and depth of the meaning of the Divine Teachings in your life, inner and external. Live a beautiful life, so beautiful that its fragrance eternally permeates and pervades the memory of your fellow sojourners in the journey of life.”

His thoughts on the enormity of challenges that humanity faces and the poverty of our own contributions in containing them, are almost socialistic, but the right mind would consider them humane. They are worthy of reverberating every materialistic and human corridor throughout the world.

“I urge you to hate poverty, not the poor. Human beings have a responsibility to cultivate richness, not poverty. I ask you to be friend of the poor and the needy; but to reject poverty of any kind, be it material poverty, intellectual poverty or moral poverty,” he said.
