You can resist everything except temptation
Contrary to the popular belief that temptation is the hardest to resist and that it often makes things worse, “We gain the strength of the temptation that we resist,’ says Priti Angel Kumar, our Model of the Fortnight.
Again, contrary to popular belief that words of wisdom are products of years of experience and possibly age, she is just 19 years old and stepped out of her semi-urban setting of Nadi in Fiji just 16 months ago.
Migrating to New Zealand was a turning point in her life, for, apart from being exposed to life in a sophisticated and the most culturally diverse city in the world, Auckland posed a huge challenge. Yet, she has coped well, completing her Year 13 studies and pursuing studies in culinary art.
Paternal motivation
Priti described her father Sailesh Kumar as ‘the biggest motivation in life.’
“He has always guided me in every way. He has encouraged in all my pursuits. He is in fact my role model. He has acknowledged and respected my independence and has always understood me and my friends. He is indeed my source of inspiration and endearment. He is everything to me,” she said.
Priti has a positive mental attitude and despite her young, believes in letting things be and getting over matters. “Nothing stops; Life goes on. This approach helps me to work towards my goals and fulfil them. It even allows me to develop new goals in my life. Challenges add spice to life, and I get to taste different experiences, situations and people all the time,” she said.
Passion for Modelling
Modelling is among her passions which she has nursed since her formative years.
She hopes to take up show business as a profession, although cooking equally holds her interest.
Priti hopes to decide on her future career soon. She is also confident that her father would continue to be her guide.
