New Zealand Police have clarified their stand on issues relating to dubious astrologers and those following objectionable practice of witchcraft.
A spokesperson said that the Police are aware of the issue and would welcome anyone willing to provide information if they believe that they are victims of an offence.
“Police have a diverse workforce and extensive experience of working with all our ethnic communities to prevent and investigate offending,” the notification said.
The spokesperson said at press time that they had no information to suggest that there were matters requiring a police response.
“However, any information we receive will be assessed in the normal way. We would encourage anyone considering paying money for a service like this to exercise caution. This means having an informed understanding of the service that they are paying for and applying appropriate judgements in any transaction. Questions regarding the immigration status of the individuals involved should be directed to Immigration New Zealand,” the spokesperson added.
