Colliers International came out in flying colours winning eight awards given by the industry for achieving excellence in a number of areas.
The Company received the distinction at the Annual Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) New Zealand Commercial Property Awards held on May 18, 2015.
Colliers won the ‘Overall Award for Most Sales Transactions over $5 million’ for the fifth consecutive year, as part of the eight out of nine awards that it scooped at the event.
Stringent Criteria
The three other RICS award victories based on both quantitative and qualitative criteria were ‘Property Management Team of the Year,’ ‘Industrial Team of the Year’ and the ‘Inaugural Research and Consultancy Team of the Year.’
The Company also earned four Merit or Runners Up Awards including ‘Valuation Team of the Year,’ ‘Commercial Team of the Year,’ ‘Retail Team of the Year’ and ‘Best Deal of the Year.’
New Merit Awards
RCIS introduced the Merit Awards this year in view of “the exceptional quality of entries and the minimal margin between first and second place getters.”
Colliers won the ‘Property Management Team of the Year Award’ for the third consecutive. This year, the Company’s Corporate Solutions team, led by Don Smith (for securing property management and service assurance of the BNZ national portfolio) won the Award. This represented the Corporate Solutions team’s biggest contract win.
The Industrial Team of the Year was awarded to the Colliers Highbrook industrial team, led by Greg Goldfinch, for the sixth year in a row
Colliers Research and Consultancy team, winners of the inaugural ‘Research and Consultancy Team of the Year Award,’ is an industry leader in New Zealand led by Alan McMahon, producing market insights for clients around the country.
Qualitative Focus
Colliers Chief Executive Mark Synnott said, “RICS has made a point of weighting its criteria for award winners from a quantitative focus to one built around qualitative achievements. Many of the awards were based on the quality of the team’s work, such as success and complexity of a specific project, client satisfaction, innovative approaches, and sustainability initiatives. It demonstrates that our teams can win based on both the quality of their work, as well as their impressive sales figures.”
The Company’s Auckland Managing Director Charles Cooper said that being placed in the top two over eight categories proved the depth and breadth of Colliers’ experience across a wide range of services.
“This result is a credit to the hard work and high calibre of our staff and senior leadership team,” he said.
RICS is the world’s leading professional body for qualifications and standards in land, property and construction, with about 180,000 qualified members worldwide.
