A Free AI Platform to secure interviews and job offers

Go Bear (www.gobear.me) is an AI tool developed by Tom Wu that is helping hundreds of ordinary people find the right job for them in a fraction of the time and effort.

“All you need to do is upload your CV, identify some preferences, and Go Bear will do the rest for you. It is fast, free, and secure,” Mr Wu said.

The name is derived from the 2024 New Zealand ‘bear’ job market, which saw record unemployment numbers and left many feeling helpless and vulnerable.

Focus on Jobseekers

“I have submitted dozens of CVs over the past nine months but have not landed a single interview,” says Pranay, a recent migrant to New Zealand from South Africa with over ten years of software development experience.

His struggle highlights the realities of New Zealand’s challenging job market, which is often significantly tougher for newcomers lacking local work experience.

“Large companies are investing millions in AI, especially Generative AI, to boost productivity and enhance efficiency. Meanwhile, everyday individuals are left struggling to navigate the competitive job market and are sometimes unaware of how AI can help them on their journey,” Mr Wu said.

He left a high-paying corporate AI role to establish Go Bear, an individual-centric AI platform designed to help students and professionals secure jobs faster and more easily.

“You need not be an expert in CV writing, interviews, salary negotiation, or prompt engineering. Focus on being an expert in your field; let AI handle the application grind,” he said.

AI-driven job applications

Go Bear, the platform that Wu and his team developed, has analysed a user’s CV, identified skills gaps, and drafted tailored cover letters.

“Upload your CV, then a few clicks, and Go Bear will serve you like a professional career coach and CV writer but with no price tag attached. The service is designed to be fast, free, and secure,” he said.

The impact is already evident. Jayashi, an international student from Sri Lanka facing similar rejection challenges as Pranay, recently landed two interviews and a job offer for a Customer Service Specialist role with GoSee after using Go Bear for just a few weeks.

“I am very thankful to Go Bear,” Jayashi said.

Go Bear is rapidly emerging as a vital tool for job seekers and already assisting hundreds of students from AUT and Otago Polytechnic, alongside other young professionals, in navigating the current tough job market.

Go Bear is also planning to expand its footprint overseas later this year, with Australia, Vietnam, Nigeria, and the UK in its sights.

“Great technology should not have boundaries or access privileges. It should be available equally to everyone, regardless of their financial situation or resources,” Mr Wu said.
