‘The Original Art Sale’ presented by the AUT University will be held from May 15 to May 17 at the Vodafone Events Centre in Manukau.
Masterpieces that capture the heart and eye, but do not max out the credit card are the success behind Auckland’s largest art market.
The three-day event this year will feature more than 1200 artworks by about 350 New Zealand artists. The diverse collection will include a number of budding artists.
The supermarket concept has a fast turnover and artworks are constantly replaced when something sells. Prices range from $100 to $5000 with a wide choice.
School Contest
Forty finalists at the Secondary School Art Competition will also exhibit their works and they would know the names of winners at the event.
The Original Art Sale opens with a charity gala night on May 14, with proceeds from ticket sales donated to Kidz First Children’s Hospital.
The programme will commence at 630 pm with drinks and networking.
People purchasing a $49 ticket online of the opening night will have the opportunity to win a Mark Warboys painting donated to Kidz First for this event.
