Jayathi Jaiganesh, a talented Year 10 student from Wellington with a proud Indian heritage, achieved success at the recent New Zealand National Table Tennis Tournament.
The Wellington Under-15 Girls team earned a Bronze Medal in the National Tournament that happened in Nelson between October 9 and October 13, 2024.
This accomplishment was a testament to the hard work, dedication, and talent of the team.
Ms Jaiganesh’s success highlights the growing influence and success of the Indian Diaspora in the international sports arena. Her outstanding performance, supported by her strong family values, reflects her dedication, skill, and passion for the sport.
Dedication and Perseverance
Ms Jaiganesh’s journey in Table Tennis began at a young age, inspired by the values of perseverance and hard work. Over the years, she has trained rigorously to become a player of distinction in local and regional competitions. She won the 2023 and 2024 Individual Junior College Sport Wellington Table Tennis (Girls) Championship, showcasing her talent and discipline.

Central to Ms Jaiganesh’s success is the unwavering support of her parents, Jayasudhasri and Jaiganesh, who have instilled in her the importance of hard work and dedication, values that are significant in Indian culture.
