‘Serndhu Polama,’ a Tamil feature film, shot entirely in New Zealand, will be released in local theatres next week.

Produced by Sasi Nambissan and Dr Rita Sasidharan, Directors of Auckland based ‘Aiswarya Entertainments Ltd,’ the movie debuted in Tamil Nadu on March 6 and soon thereafter in Kerala.

The worldwide release of ‘Serndhu Polama,’ including Europe, USA, Canada, Asia and the Middle East, will promote the pristine beauty of New Zealand.

In Auckland, the film will be shown at Capitol Cinema (610 Dominion Road, Balmural) at 745 pm on April 12.

Mr Nambissan said that negotiations were being held with other theatres and that an announcement will be made on Facebook and in Indian Newslink.

‘Serndhu Polama,’ features youngsters Vinay Rai and Madhurima Banerjee in the lead roles, veteran actors ‘Thalaivasal’ Vijay, Thambi Ramaiyah and Anand Sri Krishna (Nandu), and a number of others in its cast.

“It is a combination of love, mystery, humour and pathos – everything in fact that would make a film appeal to the wider audiences. Director Anil Kumar, who is well known in the Malayalam and Tamil film industry, has brought together a well-knit team to offer something new to filmgoers. We hope that its success would be inspiring,” Mr Nambissan said.

He said that the objective of Aiswarya Entertainments was to provide ample opportunities for young talents to grow and make a mark in the ever-growing film industry.

“The Tamil film industry is known to encourage new talents, irrespective of their State of origin in India and in fact anywhere in the world. We have examples of many young men and women who have made Tamil Nadu their home after being successful as actors, directors, producers and technicians,” he said.
