Effective July 1, 2015, the ACC levy portion of your Vehicle Licensing Fee (popularly known as Registration Fee) will drop by about 41%, depending on the type of vehicle.
This will result in a reduction in Registration Fee for most vehicles in New Zealand.
To make sure that you do not pay more than necessary, you could perhaps consider opting for a shorter licensing renewal period (for example three or six months).
Thus, you will be able to take full advantage of the new lower price when your vehicle licence comes up for renewal after July 2015.
Please note that if you have already renewed your registration beyond July 2015, you will not be able to get a refund.
The reductions do not include motorbikes or mopeds.
For further information, please contact your local Citizens Advice Bureau or call 0800- 367222.
