Happiness can be achieved through ‘Inner Engineering’ and ‘Inner Journey,’ with the right choice of factors in life, one of the most popular Spiritual Leaders of the world has said.

“The life we live is a Gift of God and the way we live is our Gift to God.  Live life with life; live with happiness but not for happiness. Negativity is natural but positivity must be the choice,” Sri Sidheshwar Brahmrishi Gurudev, aka Siddh Guru, said.

He was speaking at length to the members of the media at the residence of Sudesh and Laxmi Jhunjhnuwala in Auckland on Friday, March 10, 2023.

He is in New Zealand as a part of a three-nation spiritual tour including Australia, Fiji and New Zealand. As well as conducting Transformational Prayers and meeting devotees individually, he is due to speak at a public function tomorrow- Sunday, March 12, 2023 at 3 pm at the new Community Centre of the Shree Swaminarayan Complex located at 10/12 Wentworth Avenue, Papatoetoe, Auckland.

His tours are organised by the World Spiritual Forum based in Tirupati, India and coordinated by its branches in Australia (Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne and Sydney), Fiji (Suva) and New Zealand (Auckland).

Truth should be beautiful

The Siddh Guru said that journalists and media persons perform one of the most significant aspects of the modern world- to inform, educate and guide people.

“As broadcasters on the Radio, presenters on Television and writers in the Print media, they have the responsibility of conveying the truth to their listeners, viewers and readers. Those who purvey truth are performing a social task. If truth is accompanied by Dharma, Culture, Beauty, and the Paramatma, that truth becomes embellished by beauty. Such truth cannot be crude. While conveying truth is important, it is equally important to ensure that truth is relevant, not crude and something that is not discussed or disclosed in public,” he said.

He said that the modern world does not accept Dharma as much as it accepts Vigyan (Science).

“This is because Dharma cannot be interpreted in English. In Hinduism. it is the eternal and inherent nature of reality, regarded as a cosmic law underlying right behaviour and social order. Dharm or Dharma can be the leading light in life,” he said and emphasised the need for navigating life properly.

Navigating life

“Those who do not know how to navigate their life will land themselves in sorrow, depression and disturbance but those who know how to navigate will find happiness. This is the essence of inner engineering and inner journey,” the Siddh Guru said.

According to him, it is in this process that the role of the Guru, the Teacher (or God) becomes imperative. Like the GPS that helps road users to reach their destinations, the Guru guides his Shishyas (disciples or students) to achieve their goals. Saints and Gurus are here not to give humankind a cult or religion but to teach people the correct way of life, ensuring their smooth and successful transition from worldly bondages toward the Almighty.

“Exercise the correct choice to get happiness. Choose patience instead of anger. Prefer discussion to argument. Anger raises the question of ‘Who is right and who is wrong,’ whereas discussion raises the question, ‘What is right and what is wrong.’ Patience brings love and love is the right path to happiness,” he said.

Spiritual Masters like the Siddh Guru have the ability to penetrate the toughest of hearts and ask human beings to face the ultimate question: Who am I? Am I superior to another because of material wealth because I occupy a mansion, the corridors of power and dictate others to follow? And when it all ends, do I have a special place, where there could be the same privileged position of dominance?

The transient existence

“The fact that life on earth is transient should make us humble because everything that we call our own becomes someone else’s possession until that person passes on- in this endless cycle of ownership and succession, nothing belongs to anyone forever,” he said.

He said that the Covid-19 pandemic brought fear complex in people but the lockdown and uncertainty accrued some positive effects.

“People realised the value of love, being with the family, serving the community and mobilising support and helping each other. Staying at home also helped in creating a feeling of togetherness with the younger generation. Covid-19 sacred people but also helped the world to understand the value of God, love and respect for others. Service to humanity is the best work of life,” he said.

Media persons at the press conference noted his kind disposition and his belief that religion is not based on rituals and rites but on love, peace, harmony and understanding among people. Many of them found answers to questions, which they said, daunted them for many years.
