Sudima Auckland Airport Hotel was a winner at the Westpac South Auckland Business Awards ceremony held on October 9.
Sudima Group Director of Operations Les Morgan, who was earlier General Manager of the Auckland Hotel, won the ‘Excellence in Leadership’ Category. The Hotel was also a finalist in the ‘Best Emerging Business’ Category.
Mr Morgan joined Sudima Auckland Airport Hotel prior to its ‘soft launch’ in May 2011 (Prime Minister John Key officially opened the Hotel on July 9, 2012) bringing with him 20 years of experience in the hotel industry. He was promoted to the post of Trans-Tasman Director of Operations of the Group.
The Group operates four hotels under the Sudima brand (Sudima Auckland Airport, Sudima Lake Rotorua, Sudima Christchurch Airport and Sudima Hamilton, a managed property) in New Zealand and Sudima Suites (a self-contained apartment-style property) in Brisbane, Australia.
“From the beginning, I felt somewhat uncomfortable putting myself forward for the Award, as I am a big believer in celebrating the achievements of the collective efforts of the wider team. My team and I are proud of this prestigious acknowledgement,” he said.
