Fund raiser for Heart Mission

A charitable Trust is organising a fundraising dinner in aid of its Paediatric Heart Mission to Fiji.

The Friends of Pacific Foundation, Geoff Dainty (Past Chairman Australasia) and Eric Horne, (Chairman) of the Rotary Oceania Medical Air for Children (ROMAC) are organising the event at Mt Eden War Memorial Hall at 630 pm on Friday, August 22, 2014.

Mr Dainty and Mr Home are involved with the fundraiser in their personal capacity.

Mission to Fiji

The Programme aims to mobilise finances to fund a Paediatric Heart Mission to Fiji in September. Among those associated with the event are Dr Kirsten Finucane, Chief Paediatric & Congenital Cardiac Surgeon, Dr John Wright, a Paediatric Cardiologist, Starship Hospital and a number of others.

Tickets priced at $50 per person and $450 for a table of ten are available with Bobby Singh (021-02276625); Geoff Danity (021-475842); Deepak Tahal (021-890282) and Nick Naidu (09-6305002).

The Programme would include Indian dinner and Bollywood performances by the Auckland based Indiance Group.

Experienced Trust

The Friends of Pacific Foundation Trust is an experienced organisation in providing charitable medical services and health programmes to the Pacific, particularly Fiji.

It understands the reasons for the difficulties experienced by the Governments and the NGOs, agencies, organisations and individuals that wish to contribute humanitarian medical services to improve the health services to the poor and needy.

Aucklander Deepak Tahal has been focusing on charity work since 2006. A native of Ba, he understood the significance of charity work to help the poor and the needy in Fiji.

He saw the desperate need for medical attention for illnesses that would have been quickly remedied in New Zealand, but because of a lack of resources and staff, many patients were left untreated.

Through his networks in New Zealand, Mr Tahal was instrumental in forming two medically focused charities that organised medical missions to Fiji.
