Followers of Hindu faith and those keen on understanding the world’s oldest religion and its practices would have an opportunity to enhance their knowledge at an ongoing Discourse in South Auckland.
Swami Laxman Dass Maharaj is conducting the nightly discourse (Ram Katha or Story of Lord Rama) at the Manukau Indian Association Hall located at 57 Hillside Road in Papatoetoe.
Organised by the Guru Sisya Committee, the event, which began on July 13, will conclude on July 19.
The nightly programme commences at 645 pm with Yajman Pooja, followed by Guru Pooja, Pravachan, Arti, Kirtan and Maha Prasad.
The visiting master will conduct a daily discourse on ‘Bhagwat Katha’ from July 20 to 26 at the residence of Pratap Singh at 82 Ransomsmyth Drive, Manukau.
As reported in our April 1, 2013 issue, Laxman Dass is the Founder of Vishwa Shanthi Ashram, which has its headquarters in Ayodha in Uttar Pradesh (India) and branches in many parts of the world, including New Zealand.
A globetrotter, he will be in Australia from August 1 to September 7, conducting similar programmes in Sydney and Brisbane.
