Members of the Orewa community are putting together an evening of entertainment and food in aid of charity.
‘Indian Cultural Night’ will be held at the ‘Orewa Arts and Events Centre’ in Orewa College (Riverside Road, Orewa) on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 5 pm.
Faithfull Foundation Charitable Trust is producing the event, which Organiser Ratna Krishnan said “will embark on a beautiful journey of pure wisdom.”
Music, dance and recognition of achievements will be among the highlights of the programme, which will also showcase the young talent inherent in the community.
Mrs Krishnan said that the proceeds will be donated to people suffering from paediatric and geriatric illnesses and medically disadvantaged children and adults within the community.
New initiative
This would be channelled through ‘Pay it Forward,’ an initiative of The Trust, designed to promote the wellbeing of people in the community.
“We are keen to develop a new generation of philanthropists through innovative community engagements. These include philanthropy, fundraising and volunteering through acts of kindness, thought and action for much needed assistance, help or awareness within our community,” she said.
Mrs Ratna said that anyone can be involved with ‘Pay it Forward’ and its programmes.
“As a charitable organisation, we solely rely on people who are willing to make a difference. You may be just one person in this world, but to one person, at one time, you are the world. Imagine if each individual looked for the opportunity to help others each day. Imagine the difference that would make,” she said.
Tickets priced at $30 (Adults), $25 (Senior Citizens) and $15 (children) are available. Further details can be obtained from Ratna Krishnan on (09) 4264919 or (09) 4219844 or Laurie Rands on (09) 4263122
