Professional Financial Solutions Limited (PFSL) opened its South Auckland branch in Manurewa on November 30, 2013, marking a significant milestone in its history.
The new branch, offering an extensive range of financial and insurance products and services, is seen as a good omen as the Company celebrates ten years of its establishment in Central Auckland.
Located at Level 1/203 Great South Road, it will complement the products and services offered by PFSL from its main office at 35 Morningside Drive, Mt Albert.
The Indian community has the advantage of widening choice with an increasing number of mortgage brokers and mortgage finance companies in New Zealand. As they compete in an overcrowded market, they may accrue price advantage.
Experts however say that quality of service, honesty and integrity are far more important than promises and claims to the players in this market, for, they come under the stringent rules and regulations of the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) and Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ).
Enviable reputation

A number of customers have written to us expressing their gratitude to Ravi Mehta, the founder and Director of the Company and an authorised Financial Advisor and his team of qualified professionals for their timely assistance.
Among them are readers Shomi and Praveen Payak of Papatoetoe, who had experienced unpleasantness with another mortgage broker earlier. They took that company to court and won their case.

The beginning
Mr Mehta is gratified by such customer response and recalled the modest beginnings of the Company in 2003.
He was a new migrant to the country and encouraged by his previous experience, decided to establish PFSL to provide mortgage services to the clients of Prakash Menon, who had a Chartered Account Practice in New Lynn.
“Six months later, Mr Menon decided to move to Australia. However, I was confident of achieving success as Rohit Takyar joined the venture as a director. I have had no occasion to look back since then. We have experienced impressive growth, thanks to the trust reposed by our clients with their goodwill and referrals,” Mr Mehta said.
He considers his complement of 13 full-time staff as the greatest asset of the Company.
New Location
Opening a second office at a time when banks are constrained to follow new lending ratios may appear risky but Mr Mehta believes in getting closer to clients, offering the additional advantage of convenience.
“South Auckland continues to attract people of Indian origin, new migrants and various other ethnic groups. We believe that establishing an office in Manurewa will enable us to promote our services better to wider communities,” he said.
Project Management
The Company offers extensive services related to the industry but there was a need for a new dimension.
“Offering mortgage, accountancy and insurance services as a one-stop-shop make perfect sense, not only saving time and money for our clients but also fitting our services around their individual needs. Many clients purchase properties for investments or rent their homes as they move overseas. In deference to their wishes, we have commenced managing their rental properties,” he said.
Lisa Loader, who has 12 years of experience in the sector, is the leader of the new Property Management Division of PFSL.
With an experienced team of chartered accountants, a mix of authorised and registered financial advisors, a property manager and administration and support staff, Mr Mehta is energetic about future prospects.
Expanding team
“We plan to add to our team two property managers, a mortgage advisor and an insurance advisor next year. They will ensure that our clients are well catered for and suggest fresh and innovative approach to their finances and investments,” he said.
