Children are gifts of God but there are times when the Maker wants them back.
They spread joy at home and everywhere else but leave us in hopeless grief.
There are children who suffer from terminal illnesses and our hearts almost stop ticking at the thought that we may lose them one day.
Such a thought can be terrifying; these innocent beings ought not to leave this world, before experiencing life.
It is not fair.
However, destiny is always pre-ordained and the best we can do is to pray for such children and let them enjoy what they desire and deserve.
Simone is one of them.
High Tea at Sudima
She will be at a Sudima Auckland Hotel (18 Airpark Drive) near the Airport on Friday, December 6 to participate in a special event – High Tea with a lofty goal.
The 12-year-old girl suffers from spine tumour. Her wish is to have a fabulous holiday in Melbourne with a friend resident in the Australian city.
Make-A-Wish New Zealand, a noble organisation that has been helping such children to enjoy their heart’s desire, will make her dream come true.
Says Fundraising and Marketing Manager Annabel Lush, “Simone is an amazing baker and spoils her family with her treats. When asked if she could invent something, she said that she would build a house made of rainbow cake! She will be attending the High Tea with her mother,” she said.
According to Ms Lush, the unfortunate girl has had a few tough months with hospital stays and treatment.
“We thought that the High Tea event at Sudima Auckland Hotel would be the perfect event for Simone with her love of baking cakes. We are looking forward to making a fuss of her at the event,” she said.
Since its establishment in 1986, this Children’s Charity organisation has been granting the special wishes of children aged between three and seventeen with life- threatening medical conditions.
It brings hope, strength and joy to children throughout New Zealand facing such challenges in their lives.
As well as the high tea, guests will receive a goody bag and be able to purchase gifts for the holiday season ahead.
“We enjoy a great partnership with Sudima Hotels and are delighted to be involved in the forthcoming special event. We are inviting ‘princesses’ of all ages to participate in the Make-A-Wish programme,” Ms Lush said.
