The Upper Harbour Indian Association is currently in the process of creating a calendar of events to become a meaningful and useful organisation, its President Udita Sood said.

Established early this year, the Association aims to serve the extended Indian community in a fast-growing region, and Ms Sood has an enthusiastic team to deliver its goals.

During an interview with Indian Newslink, Ms Sood, Director of Penguin Financial Services Limited said that the new Association aims to work for all communities but promote Indian culture, cuisines and costumes with a positive influence on all peoples.

“The Upper Harbour Indian Association will also work to promote the welfare of elderly people because the area now houses an increasing number of people above 60 years of age who are either visiting their children and grandchildren or have come here to stay. Our Association will provide a good platform for them to meet, exchange experiences and spread joy and laughter,” she said.
