The Association will be inaugurated at a ceremony to be held from 6 pm on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Kumeu Community Centre, located at 35 Access Rd, Kumeu, Auckland.
Mr Nambiar said the catchment area of the Association is Kumeu, Huapai, Taupaki, Riverhead and Waimauku.
“NorthWest Malayali Association is a young organisation whose objectives focus on preserving and promoting Kerala’s cultural heritage, advancing the education of Malayali culture and assisting new settlers in Northwest Auckland. The Association also aims to provide social services, encourage sports participation, and foster integration and development within the Malayali community in Northwest Auckland,” he said.
Though an informal group, the group has been in existence for the past five years and was established as an Incorporated Society on January 1, 2025, he added.
“All of us trace our roots along the length and breadth of Kerala and come from different professional domains. We are excited to start our journey and look forward to the future with confidence,” he said.
