Motorway night closures for the week commencing Sunday 11 February 2018
Traffic notices provide a brief overview of temporary night closures and road layout changes for the coming week.
Sunday, February 11 to Friday, February 16, 2018
Southern Motorway (SH1)
From 10 pm on Sunday February 11, to 5 am on Monday February 12, 2018
Full closure of all northbound motorway lanes from the Papakura Interchange to the Takanini Interchange.
Sunday, February 11 and Monday February 12, 2018
Closure of the southbound on-ramp at Takanini between 9 pm and 5 am each night.
Tuesday, February 13 to Thursday February 15, 2018
Closure of the southbound off-ramp at Takanini between 9 pm and 5 am each night.
Tuesday, February 13 to Thursday, February 15, 2018
Full closure of all northbound motorway lanes from the Takanini Interchange to the Manukau Interchange between 9 pm and 5 am each of the three nights. This includes the Takanini and Hill Road northbound onramps.
Upcoming Closures
Southern Motorway (SH1)
Sunday, February 18 and Monday February 19, 2018– Full closure of all southbound lanes from the Manukau Interchange to the Takanini Interchange between 10 pm and 5 am each night. This includes closure of the Redoubt Road on-ramp, Lambie Drive eastbound on-ramp and SH20 – SH1 link.
Tuesday, February 20 to Thursday, February 22, 2018– Full closure of all southbound lanes from the Takanini Interchange to the Papakura Interchange between 10 pm and 5 am each night.
Wednesday, February 21 and Thursday February 22, 2018– Full closure of all northbound motorway lanes from the Papakura Interchange to the Takanini Interchange between 10 pm and 5 am each night.
Local Road – Spartan Road
Tuesday, February 20 to Thursday, February 22, 2018– one-way detour will be in place between 9 pm and 5 am. Spartan Road will be entry only from Great South Road.
Long-term traffic management
Northbound
Narrowed lanes and 80 km/h temporary speed restriction from Papakura Interchange to Takanini Interchange and from Hill Road to Orams Road for the duration of the project.
Lanes narrowed under Orams Road to accommodate the work area at Puhinui Stream.
Southbound
Narrowed lanes and 80 km/h temporary speed restriction between Orams Road and the Papakura Interchange for the duration of the project.
Great South Road
Narrowed lanes and 50 km/h temporary speed restrictions in place on all lanes between the northbound off-ramp and the southbound on-ramp.
